European Formula One Grand Prix
Over 500 million TV viewers will follow the race on the Valencia Street Circuit.
From 2008 onwards, the European Grand Prix will be held at the Valencia Street Circuit, a spectacular urban track with sea views. This is an outstanding calling card that will raise the profile of both Spain and Valencia in the eyes of the world. The race takes place around the streets of Valencia and the safety measures are even stricter than those in place at conventional circuits. The cars will race around the attractive area of the Port America's Cup marina, over a revolving bridge that spans the port canal.
The race is set to be held in Valencia for at least seven years and will have stricter safety standards than conventional circuits, since the track will be reviewed by experts from the Spanish and International automobile racing federations.
It is estimated that around 500 million television viewers tune in to follow the F1 races from all around the world, 10% of the total world population, and the Region of Valencia should get a return of around €70 million for every Grand Prix race it hosts.
